MyLoupe: Any Sales yet?

Postby ianbutty » Wed Apr 08, 2009 11:25 pm

Well in the time this board has been off line my total number of MyLoupe sales has gone up by...erm... ZERO. Giving me a grand total of erm... well... still ZERO.

Anyone getting any sales with MyLoupe?

Hi Ian,

I've only seen one or two people post about making any sales on MyLoupe and then only years before. Do you still have images with them.....why?

Boy have things changed since last I posted.

That is pretty much what I think about them. I don't see them as a significant image outlet at all. Certainly not advising people to submit to them any more.

I do still have images with them - about 2000 of them, mainly Rome and and Egypt which are my best/regular sellers at Alamy. I can't be bothered spending the time to remove the images, and as long as they don't go "Micro" I can't see leaving the images there will do me any harm. I keep hoping that one of the big players might buy MyLoupe out (although I think it is unlikely) and under such circumstances it would be an easy way in to such a buyer.

Certainly have - I need to restructure the forum to reflext the current view of the world.... but that's another topic altogether.

Have had over 600 images since 2005 and zero sales; haven't bothered to upload any for the last couple of years.
Wondering if it's worth the effort removing them?

Ian,

I doubt MyLoupe would be on the radar of any decent agency. Wholly owned content or specialist sales/collections are what the biggers boys like PhotoLibrary are looking for (just snapped up 'On view'). Maybe some bargains will be picked up as the economic woes hit home....worked for Getty with Jupiter Images. You never know.

Personally, I would find that number lying around on a site, doing nothing, a terrible 'itch to scratch'.

Not going to happen for me now--I removed myself from Myloupe a year or two ago--for the better pastures of Photoshelter Collection! (To be fair, I did make four sales during PSC's brief life.) As I told Brian, over 10% of the images I had on Myloupe had sales on Alamy, but I had no sales on Myloupe.

I got my first and (so far) only sale from myLoupe last year... too bad they pay with cheque, it costs 15 euros minimum to cash it in here...
